"Return to the Roots" Journey 2025 – A Special Milestone in DHV’s 30-Year Legacy
"Dù ai đi ngược về xuôi
Nhớ ngày Giỗ Tổ mùng mười tháng ba..."
In celebration of its upcoming 30th anniversary (1995–2025), Hung Vuong University of Ho Chi Minh City (DHV) recently organized a deeply meaningful “Return to the Roots” journey, bringing nearly 200 staff members, lecturers, and employees to the ancestral land of the Hung Kings (Phu Tho Province) from March 25th to March 27th, 2025. This was the university’s largest-scale trip to date, symbolizing not only profound gratitude toward the nation's origins but also the strong unity that defines the DHV community.

The first stop of the delegation was the Hung Kings Temple Complex – one of the most sacred sites in the spiritual consciousness of the Vietnamese people. Here, the DHV community solemnly offered incense in remembrance of the Hung Kings – the founders who laid the groundwork for the nation of Viet Nam. In the sacred atmosphere of the temple, each member of the delegation felt a deep sense of national pride and a profound appreciation for the significance of attending a university named after the nation’s forefathers.

The journey continued with visits to many historically and culturally significant landmarks in Hanoi, including: Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, the National Assembly Building, the Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda, and Hoa Lo Prison Museum. Each destination offered more than just sightseeing – it was a living classroom on Vietnam’s history of nation-building, resilience, and patriotism. Through these experiences, DHV members deepened their understanding of Vietnamese heritage and, in turn, found greater pride and appreciation for the university’s 30-year journey of growth and dedication to education.

More than a tribute to national origins, the Return to the Roots journey served as a powerful opportunity for bonding among the DHV team. The university’s leadership hopes that this experience will inspire every member of DHV to strengthen their connection to one another and work in harmony toward building an ever-stronger institution – one that continues to grow and thrive into the future.

While visiting the Hung Kings Temple has become a tradition at DHV, this year’s trip – held in the university’s 30th anniversary – held especially profound meaning. It radiated the spirit of the Hung Kings, bridged the past and the present, and connected every individual to the wider DHV family. This journey leaves a lasting mark, affirming the university’s core spirit:
“Upholding tradition – Moving firmly into the future.”
